Update on our newest addition....

This is my lil man Hudson! He's growing so fast! I can't believe he is already 3 months old. There has not been any downtime around here! At 1 week old, lil man had to be hospitalized overnight in the NICU with newborn jaundice. At 6 weeks old, he was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis and had to have a pylorotomy (I hope that's spelled right). It was a laproscopic surgery and required another stay in the NICU. Today, man is healthy and happy. He is a lil chunk and weighed 14 lbs at last MD visit! Pyloric Stenosis is when the valve (pylorus) that lets food pass from your stomach into your intestines becomes narrowed (or stenosed) and will not allow food to pass. The muscles around the pylorus become very thick and close the valve. This is usually genetic, but because no one in our families have ever had this, it was quite a scary event. He continued to gain weight and look healthy so his diagnosis did not come easily or quickly. He was diagnosed with reflux and finally, after several trips to the MD office and frantic phone calls, we were sent to the hospital for an ultrasound and got our diagnosis. Dr. Lopoo did his surgery and he was outstanding. He had great bedside manner and explained everything wonderfully. Our stay at Women's for his surgery was also phenomonal. I have to say in the past, I have not been quick to hand out compliments to a hospital.

Big Brother Madden is adjusting just fine! He is a great help and has grown up so much in the last few months. It's kinda sad. He is protective of Hudson already and likes to "show him off" to people. These two boys give me such joy everyday. God has blessed us with 2 beautiful boys and we thank him everyday! I am enjoying them so much these days. They are only in daycare one day each week. That took some getting used to. At first, I was so overwhelmed with two kiddos. Now, I feel as though it was always meant to be this way.

Hudson is reaching for things now and is very vocal. He "coos" and "ahhhs" loudly sometimes and it shocks me. He watches Madden so adoringly. It's cute, like he already knows that's his big brother to look up to.

This week we started getting outside more and just as I thought, the runny noses started. Allergies!!
